Bio

As once a student of Pike County Elementary School, it gives me great pleasure to be able to give back to the students in this community. This is my 13th year teaching, 12 of which have been teaching 4th grade Reading and ELA. I am a 1997 graduate of Pike County High School and will forever be a Bulldog at heart! I am married to Henry Everett Jr. and we have one son, Malachi who is 16 and one daughter, Makayla who is 14. Although they bring me the greatest happiness and afford me my most important title- Mother, during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, we added a new member to our family, a toy poodle named Atticus after my *favorite* fictional character, Atticus Finch in the novel, “To Kill a Mockingbird” by Alabama native, Harper Lee.

Education
M.S. in Elementary Education- 2011 from Troy Univeristy

B.S. in Elementary Education-2008 from Troy University

Experience
During my first year of teaching, I taught Indian Education to grades K-6 in the Pike County School System. I am currently the Grade Level Chair for 4th grade and teach 4th grade Reading and English Language Arts.

In 2016, I had the honor of being selected as Pike County Elementary School’s Teacher of the Year, as well as the Elementary Teacher of the Year for the Pike County District. I currently serve as a community representative to OCAP’s Policy Council.
